I saw this whole film in the 80's when it also televised. In this Lanzmann recounts the shoah by means of contemporary images and witnesses and not one single archive footage. It is a one time viewing experience of a story that needs to be told. Today, thinking back, I find myself questioning the ethics of the parts where interviewees were filmed without their knowledge.
